Different pathways can be taken by our hero and each new one has temptations …
Along the way he meets his true love and they travel on together happily for many years until temptation, alluded to here by Shelob’s Web from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, gets the better of him. Symbolically, he breaks his true love’s heart. He can’t understand why she is so seriously upset and furious at the same time …….. but that’s…. men …….. well some men ….
The song again alludes to Shelob’s Web with its twist to every strand ……….
Life’s like that …….. there are always many choices …… and we get some right … others we regret …..
The song ends once again at another Misty Dawn …. posibly many years later ……..and ends with a cliff hanger ………
The listener will have to guess what finally happens – does their quarrel resolve ……. or does it not ? Did they reach their “final overload” together …. or separately …….
